Hey Google, why is it ok for expert-exchange.com to cloak, but not me?
Written by admin0 on March 21, 2008 – 12:38 pm -(not that anyone at Google will see this, or actually do anything about it)
If you’ve never heard of expert-exchange.com, it is a site sort of like Yahoo! answers where people can ask questions and other “experts” post answers. The differance being that expert-exchange.com charges you for a membership (but do not pay for it, you can get it for free. If you have a membership, cancel it, your wasting your money.)
Lets look at an example. Lets say your looking for information about how to setup a Cron job on your server, you do a search on google and a result from expert-exchange come up in the serps. You go to the page and you can see the question that was posted, but not the answers (bummer). But wait, you can see the answers, you just have to look at the text version of the Google cache for that page. You don’t get the fancy design of the expert-exchange site, but you get to see the answers. Thats because expert-exchange.com is cloaking and lets Google bot see the full text of the page when it crawls the site. (if you didn’t already know, the text version of Google’s cache is what google bot scraped when it crawled any given page)
So, Google, whats the deal?? Why is it OK for expert-exchange to cloak, but not me??

UPDATED: Proxy checker
Written by admin0 on March 5, 2008 – 6:56 pm -This is a new, updated version of the proxies checker that i previously posted. Chris requested a version that would scrape proxies first and then test them. So as promised, i have added a scraper to the script. It now scrapes proxies from cspy.org, tests each one, puts transparent ones in transparent.txt and anonymous ones to anonymous.txt. There is no need to hunt for proxies or upload any text files, just run the script and everything is done for you! Read more »

Getting your competitors banned from Google
Written by admin0 on February 29, 2008 – 3:28 pm -This will just be a short post (like most of mine), but i just wanted to expand on a post by XMCP123 on negative SEO.
First, i’d like to note that this is for educational purpouses only, i do not condone the use of this technique and i am not reponsable for anything resulting from it’s use.
I have been asked many times about how to get a competitor removed/penalized/banned from Google. Normally i decline to answer these questions because, as i said, i don’t condone the activity. However, since xmcp has already posted a few techniques, i figure “what the hell, why not?”. Read more »
